"Get ready to give me some more of that bite!"

Well...
So I'm at work again. Yes, I have the worst hours--I know. I was very tempted not to come to work this morning. My shifts are from 2-7am twice a week. Normally, I go to bed around 7:30ish, but Elizabeth, Allegra and I went to see Black Swan last night. I enjoyed it, but it was strange. I found it rather fascinating, but it's left me in an altered state of being. I'm not so sure how I feel about it, but I liked it. I'd love to see it again. However, it caused me to have very strange dreams last night... the whole 2 hours that I slept. Regardless, it was a good movie. Go see it. I really want to see The King's Speech in the near future, but I don't know if I'll have the time.

Normally I don't see anyone at two in the morning here at Bryant Hall, but everyone seems to be up and about in the wee hours of this Friday morning. Occasionally there's a party or something, but this is just people coming and going. Usually they'd be drunk, but these guys are completely sober. I'm a bit confused...

Allegra, Elizabeth and I have started working out Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Thus far (two weeks) we've done well, so I hope we can maintain this. We all really want to get in shape. Allegra has ordered a Weight Watchers cookbook, so we're all excited to jump into that.

In my last post I talked about my troubles with e-learning... Well, after re-entering the grades the next day, I realized I put them in the wrong column! No! Sooo.... I had to do all 150 of them again. Ugh. I have every name on that roster memorized. -sigh- Apparently Merinda or Chris (the prof I'm helping) told the Chair of the department/my Bible as Literature prof that I've been doing good work. :) Yay! That made me happy!

I can't say I'm too terribly fond of my lack of free time. Seems I live to sleep on the weekend. It's sad, really. But with ALMUN 2011 just around the corner, weekends are busy, too. With one thing after another, I don't know where the time goes. I hardly remember last semester, for it passed in the blink of an eye.

So I was sitting in my Shakespeare class the other day... We're reading Romeo and Juliet. :) Yay! But my prof, who's really amazing, said "Hold up. Wait a minute..." And I couldn't help myself, so I said aloud, "Let me put some kush up in it." Yikes! Luckily no one really heard me. My friend Alfred from LAMP told me that his english prof (his eng class is before mine) said, "My name is Carrie..." and he started singing aloud, "and I'm so very..." I don't know. Maybe it's a weird LAMPer thing. I know everyone sang in the halls there. LAMPers are definitely a different breed of people... We're all just a little weird, to put it nicely.

I think I'll wrap up with this: I don't know if y'all have ever played angry birds--it's pretty much the best game ever. No, seriously. Well, Allegra and I wanted to play it, but they don't have it on the internet. Rather they have a ghetto, rip-off medieval version called Crash the Castle. It's actually pretty fun. I recommend it if you, like I, have to spend countless hours sitting at a desk.

Buona giornata, ragazzi.

This should be interesting...

So I've had to do blogs for my religion classes. I'm not a huge fan of the "blog," but here I am. I guess I thought I'd see how this works out. I don't really understand it--I just don't see why anyone would want to hear me ramble about my life... there's nothing really exciting in it. But alas, I shall try this. It could be fun, right? Here goes...

Soo, the semester's started off well enough, I suppose. Staying busy that's for sure. I'm working 20 hours on top of my 15 hours of classes. I have an endless reading list (for my classes and pleasure reading). One of my jobs is being a TA in the large enrollment Intro to Religious Studies class. So far it's pretty cool. I got my first set of papers to grade. No big deal, but using the e-learning system is another story... I went to post all of the grades, but I took a break for dinner at some point. Afterward, I turned on my recording of Pretty Little Liars (that show is strangely addicting) and went back to posting grades. Well, during my dinner break, e-learning timed out, so all of the grades I posted weren't actually posted. -sigh- I'll do it again this afternoon in the office. When I'm not in the actual class, I work in the office. Right now I don't do much. None of the profs really ask for my help because most of them are gone by the time I start, so I've really become Merinda's personal secretary. Merinda is my prof/advisor. She's pretty awesome!

The other evening the Religious Studies Student Association (RSSA) went out to dinner at Mellow Mushroom. We had a fabulous time. It was great, really.
Okay, I really did have a good time. I'm not sure what happened here. Merinda seems to be enjoying the food, though. Haa.

Chesley and Quint goofing off. Then Quint put on the glasses and we discussed what it meant to be a "real man."
There we go! Everyone is paying attention. We ended up having around 16 RSSAers. Good times. :)

Classes are going well, I think. I'm taking Ancient Egypt to the Near East, Gender Theory and Religion, Shakespeare, Tudors and the English Bible as Literature. Shakespeare class is probably my fav. Obviously. I'm only kind of obsessed with Shakespeare. The Tudors class is awesome, but it's my favorite time period in Britain soo..... Everything is really awesome though.

Elizabeth and Allegra (two of my best friends) both agree that this semester is just too busy. We literally live for the weekend. Our weekends consist of sleep, hanging out at Allegra's place or our house, etc. Nothing too exhausting because we are too tired to do anything. We just want the break. Regardless, I'm having an awesome time.

ALMUN 2011 is fast approaching. It's the weekend before Valentine's Day. Needless to say, it's getting a bit more stressful. Oh well. It'll be a great conference. We'll have 150 high-schoolers this year--that's double what we had last year! Yay!

Okay. Enough for now. This 2-7am shift is going to be the death of me. Off to find something that will hold my attention!
