Soo, here I am at work again. I kinda freaked out when my alarm went off this morning. I didn't know what was going on! I hate it when that happens.
Last week finally ended. Elizabeth, Allegra and I hung out all weekend. We had a lot of fun! The weather ended up being really nice! :) So we took the dogs to the park so they could get some exercise. However, the weekend ended too soon. We also had the trial run of ALMUN. That went well.
This weekend is the weekend before ALMUN. So close now... We'll have a lot going on. Allegra's friend Cameron is coming up this weekend! She's super nice! We're all pretty excited. Also, Allegra, Elizabeth, (Cameron, possibly) and I are going to the beach for a few days over spring break. Then we're going to visit our friend Cyndy at SCAD for a while. :) I'm excited.
School is school. Nothing exciting. Gender Theory class was really fun this week. We started talking about how, when we look at ourselves, what do we see first: our race or our gender? How does that determine how you identify yourself, etc. It was funny. Of course any time anyone says anything, we always jump in with, "Yeah, well, what do you mean by that?" One guy said he was an extreme man; he's into hiking and everything. I was like, "What's that supposed to mean? I like hiking. Does that make me an extreme man?" It's really entertaining. We cut up a lot.
Bible class was really amusing yesterday. We're going through Genesis right now. We were talking about how Jacob left after getting his brother's birthright and then deceiving Isaac into thinking that he was Esau to get the blessing. Then Jacob goes to Laban, etc. Well, my prof was trying to get us to talk so he said, "Why do you think he'd want to have sons in particular? He's an alien there. Everyone is a potential threat--it's like Star Trek." It made me laugh. At one point someone said the only logical explanation for the Angel, who was fighting Jacob, leaving at dawn was that he was really a vampire. (Don't worry, he wasn't serious or trying to be sacrilegious. Gotta lighten the mood sometimes.) Then we were looking at some artwork about Joseph's story, and usually Joseph is depicted wearing gold/yellow clothing. We were trying to follow the story line in the painting, but couldn't quite find the beginning or end, so our prof said to "Follow the golden-clad man. It's like the Wizard of Oz." At different points in time Superman and Lawrence of Arabia came up. Needless to say, it was an interesting class.
Today we have a guest speaker coming to talk to the REL Dept. Should be exciting. Then work and class, class and work, work and class and work.
I really want to go to bed right now.
I guess I'll go grade some quizzes. Deuces.
